Guatemala Huehuetenango — Single Origin

High up in the mountains of northwestern Guatemala, where the air is cool and the soil runs deep with clay minerals, four hundred families tend their land the way their parents did — a few acres at a time, coffee trees growing alongside rows of corn and beans raised for their own tables.

This is Huehuetenango, one of Guatemala's most celebrated growing regions, sitting between 1,800 and 2,000 meters above sea level. At that altitude, the cold nights slow the ripening of the cherry, coaxing out a complexity that shows up clearly in the cup — a bright lift of lemon and lime that gives way to the warmth of nougat and brown sugar, with a medium body that feels balanced and approachable from the first sip to the last.

Because most of these small producers lack the infrastructure to process their own coffee, they partner with Unitrade Coffee, whose centrally located wet mill in Huehuetenango handles the fully washed processing and drying with care. But Unitrade's investment in these communities doesn't stop at the mill. Through their CoffeeCare initiative, they've built spaces focused on education, nutrition, and health — so that while parents are out harvesting, their children have safe, nurturing places to learn and grow.

Every bag connects you to that — a community working together, doing right by each other and the land.
